I’m not particularly hyped about this endorsement on a personal level–after all, this is the guy who openly lied to the U.N. about our motivation for invading Iraq in order to carry Bush’s water. But there are a great number of people, both inside the Beltway and out, who admire Powell a great deal and considered him the lone voice of reason in the Bush regime, so this is a clear signal that the end of the neocons’ reign is close at hand. Call it opportunism, repentance, or simply a recognition of the way the wind blows, but if it gets more people in Obama’s corner, more power to it. Any respect that I had for Colin Powell is gone! I guess race does matter in this election. How Colin Powell could back such left-wing lying liberal is beyond me. Maybe there is more to this than any of us know. God help us all.

Jeanne L I don’t know how you can say your respect you had for him has gone because I thought he came off pretty well, a logical and well explained line of thought. If anything you have to give him a bit of respect for that. But then you had to bring race into it, thats pretty low and shows a lack of thoughtful criticism.
