New York, New York

Day 6
11:54 AM ET.

Late night here in Brooklyn, U.S.A.

The DoubleSpeak team took a much needed rest last night and took some time to hang out with old friends. You should check out the pictures from last night. No politicians, no questions, just plain old debauchery.

Schedule for Today:

1. Post new episode of DoubleSpeak
2. Purchase New York bagel
3. Record next episode
4. Watch Eagles
5. Drink a lot of water

More later…

This Concludes Our Broadcast Day

Day 5
9:20 PM ET.

I’ve been going full bore for 5 days now but we’ve got a new website and several new episodes on the way. Expect some cool things tomorrow. As well as an Eagles win.

But that’s it for us today. We need to kick back, turn off the computers, and have a good night with some old friends (though I’ll still be taking photos tonight probably.)

Clinton Transcript Must Read

I can’t wait to see this interview when it airs tomorrow morning on Fox News Sunday. It’s obvious from reading the transcript that it’s going to be President Clinton at his best and possibly angriest.

I guess that’s what happens when you take the risk and go on Faux News.

Check out the full transcript here courtesy of Think Progress.

Rendell Scores Touchdown Against Swann

It looks like Pennsylvania’s great Governor, Ed Rendell (D-PA) will soar to victory against ex- Pittsburgh Steeler Lynn Swann (R).

In a new Rasmussen Reports poll, Rendell leads Swann by 20%.

We all know that Democratic Senate nominee Bob Casey is trying to ride the Governor’s long coattails into office and is therefore running the worst campaign in the history of Pennsylvania. This 20% spread is encouraging, not only for Rendell, but also for Casey.

Interviewing Gov. Corzine

We just got finished the interview with Gov. Jon Corzine (D-NJ). It went well. It was a quick pull-aside, so we didn’t have much time to get deep into the issues, but we’ll include this interview in our NJ show, which should be up tomorrow.

Gov. Corzine was speaking at the New Jersey NAACP convention, so we touched on some race related issues in our interview.

On a funny note, we were waiting for a friend outside of the hotel to go grab some lunch when Republican Senate candidate Tommy Kean Jr. rolled in, presumably to speak to convention goers.

I jumped out of the minivan, cannon camera in hand and started flashing photos of candidate Kean as he got our of his car.

His body man, some young college kid drew his arms (camera) and started taking pictures of the DoubleSpeak minivans license plate. Got Paranoia?

Tracking The Tracker

They are freaking out. I guess when you base your entire campaign on lies, smears and fiction, you should be a little bit paranoid as you travel your home state.

We’re going to coat our stomachs with some Indian food and then we’ll head into Brooklyn for a night of production and friends.

Remember to check out Flickr to see up-to-the-minute pictures of our travels. When the new website is live, you’ll be able to access these pictures on the DoubleSpeak site.

It’s Morning Again In America

Day 5
9:08 AM ET.

Saturday morning. Most people are enjoying their breakfast, reading the New York Times or getting ready for their favorite college football team to play.

Not us. We are slowly waking up, getting showered and packed and heading out to meet the Governor of the great Garden State, Jon Corzine.

Like most campaign staff across the nation, we no longer have a weekend, it will all mesh into one hard, but rewarding work week.

We want to publicly thank our gracious hosts in Jersey, Tara and Anita. Due to our need to be up until 1am producing quality online radio, we kept you awake. Sorry. We left some pizza in the fridge for you.

We finished our first on the road episode last night and it will be up shortly! Enjoy your day. More from me later.

Goodnight, Y’all

Day 5
12:17 AM ET.

So tired, ready to lay my head down. What a day…two interviews in Jersey, a delicious quesadilla for lunch, and I got to see a good friend who I haven’t seen in a long time.

All in all, not bad. Not bad at all.

Lots Of Road To Drive

Day 4
8:28 PM ET.

I haven’t written much today. I spent a lot of my day driving and working on booking guests for upcoming shows.

We’re in Jersey City, putting back a few Yuenglings and producing our next couple episodes.

Josh’s finger, for those who are dying to know is doing better. Josh, I’ll say publicly to you here on this post, i’m sorry, I thought you were locking the door, or opening it, or something. Anyway, you owe me a bruised nail.

I’ll try to write more tonight, but if this recording session takes us late into the night, which I suspect it will, I’ll be much more active tomorrow. Go team America!

Josh’s Finger: Gone But Not Forgotten

Day 4
4:20 PM ET.

We’ve had a real out crying of support from folks around the country surrounding this morning’s “incident” with Josh and the car door.

I wanted to provide those who called and sent flowers with a quick update. Sadly, we had to amputate Josh’s finger due to the break. However, not all is lost. We’re currently on Craigslist Jersey City looking for a new finger for Josh.

I will keep you posted and keep up the prayers, America.

Headed to Tara’s house to produce a Pennsylvania Episode and drink a few beers.

BORN TO RUN!

Day 3
1:29 PM ET.

Yes, we’ve hit New Jersey! That’s right, I am staying in the car when we gas up because we’re in the Garden State!

Pretty good morning. We met an awesome State Assemblyman named Joe Cryan and did an interview in at the State House in Trenton, NJ. He’s the NJ Democrat State Party Chairman and had great insight into the races here in New Jersey and around the country.

We had our first major “incident” this morning when Peter slammed Josh’s finger in the car door. Josh reacted calmly to the incident, rest assured.

Oh well, I’m sure we’ll have plenty more “incidents” along the way.

Stopping at a Burlington Coat Factory to try and replace a bunch of the clothing that was stolen from our van when it was broken into the other night.

I love you all.
