After graduating from Cardinal O’Hara High School, Joe Sestak left his hometown of Springfield, PA and entered the U.S. Naval Academy. He graduated in 1974 with a Bachelor of Science degree and went on to serve 31 years in the Navy, doing six sea tours with units of the Atlantic and Pacific fleets and deploying in Europe, the Persian Gulf, and the Western and South Pacific. During this time he served on the Joint Staff in the Force Structure Resources and Assesment Directorate under the Clinton Administration. In January 2006 he left the Navy after having reached the rank of Vice Admiral.

Lois Murphy has had an accomplished legal career and has served as an Attorney in the Department of Justice, Associate Legal Counsel for NARAL Pro-Choice America, as a lawyer in private practice and as an Adjunct Professor at Temple University’s School of Law. Lois lost to her opponent, Republican Jim Gerlach by only 2% points in 2004 and is well prepared for another fight this fall.

Ray Murphy is the Executive Director of Philadelphians Against Santorum, a grassroots group dedicated to organizing Philly against Radical Rick Santorum. Part of PA PAC For Progress, Philly Against Santorum is organizing voter canvasses in neighborhoods all through out the city and is intent on developing a new way of conducting politics. Ray is a lifelong Philadelphian who served as Philadelphia Lead Organizer and Eastern PA Field Organizer for MoveOn PAC in 2004.
