The former Governor of Massachusetts has officially announced that he will seek the Republican nomination for President of the United States of America. Romney was, for the most part a failed Governor, having little accomplishments to point to. He did not seek a second term as Governor, because, well, he would have lost to this guy. Oh yeah, he’s also a liberal Democrat.
This clip speaks for itself.
One of our favorite moments on the One Minivan, One America Tour was the realization that we were staying in a friend’s condo that had been purchased from the gay prostitute who was in the midst of bringing down evangelical-hypocrite-homo Ted Haggard. It was our own little November surprise.
Check out our Montana episode with Sen. Jon Tester for the full rundown. Today Reverend Haggard announced he is “completely heterosexual” and that he’s going to get an online degree to celebrate.
The Rev. Ted Haggard emerged from three weeks of intensive counseling convinced he is “completely heterosexual” and told an oversight board that his sexual contact with men was limited to his accuser.
That is according to one of the disgraced pastor’s overseers, who on Monday revealed new details about where Haggard has been and where he is headed.
The Rev. Tim Ralph of Larkspur also said the four-man oversight board strongly urged Haggard to go into secular work instead of Christian ministry if Haggard and his wife follow through on plans to earn master’s degrees in psychology.

Say what you will about Ralph Nader, but I would like him to go away. Run for Senate, run for Dog Catcher, run for the School Board for all I care…just PLEASE stay out of the 2008 election!
No one cares if you don’t like Hillary Clinton. Hillary Clinton hasn’t won anything yet, so please Ralph, stay away!
Go phone bank for your favorite candidates:
Democratic candidates Nader likes include former Alaska Sen. Mike Gravel and Ohio Rep. Dennis Kucinich, he said.
Gravel/Kucinich 2008? Only time will tell. Stay tuned.
Good morning, America…
It has been a little while since I last blogged here at DoubleSpeak. I have been busy moving, job hunting and re-acclimating to my life in our nation’s beautiful capitol city. However, I plan to increase the blogging in the coming weeks and months and we as a team hope to add some new faces to the blog team in the lead up to 2008.
There is an article from this morning on crama lechinta the marital status of the 2008 presidential candidates. When all is said and done, it seems that the party of family values (the Grand Ol’ Party) doesn’t really value their families too much.
The GOP has long touted itself as the party of family values, but its developing 2008 presidential field has recorded four divorces and one annulment, compared to three divorces among the Democrats.
Yeah, Democrats get divorced too, but you just have to love people like (divorced twice) and Newt Gingrich (also twice divorced) who tout values and can’t seem to keep track of their own.
Will the hypocrisy ever end?
“We are the people who run this country. We are the deciders. Every single day every single one of us needs to step outside and take some action to help stop this war. We need people in the streets banging pots and pans and demanding, ‘Stop it now!’ ”
-Molly Ivins, weeks before she passed away.
It’s no secret that I am no fan of Senator Joe Biden running for President. However, I can also do without Johnny Reid Edwards so this quote got me going this morning.
Hat tip to our friends at Politicalwire:
“I don’t think John Edwards knows what the heck he is talking about.”
-Senator Joe Biden, quoted by the New York Observer.
Dick Cheney is bitter and has truly lost his mind. Here’s what he has to say about a fellow Republican, Senator Chuck Hagel:
“Let’s say I believe firmly in Ronald Reagan’s 11th Commandment: thou shalt not speak ill of a fellow Republican. But it’s very hard sometimes to adhere to that where Chuck Hagel is involved.”
The anti-war protests here in Washington, D.C. this weekend reinforced what people throughout this country (including brave Republican leaders like Chuck Hagel) are saying loud and clear: no more war in Iraq and it’s time to come home.
Here’s a clip of DoubleSpeak commentator Ari Melber on MSNBC speaking truth to power about this misguided and criminal war. Please note that Ari is not at an arboretum but rather at a low-budget TV studio in NY where fake plants are all the rage.
Check out The REAL McCain.
“As I look at Iraq, I recall the words of former general and soon-to-be President Dwight Eisenhower during the dark days of the Korean War, which had fallen into a bloody stalemate. “When comes the end?” asked the general who had commanded our forces in Europe during World War II. And as soon as he became president, he brought the Korean War to an end.
These presidents took the right kind of action, for the benefit of the American people and for the health of our relations around the world. Tonight we are calling on this president to take similar action, in both areas. If he does, we will join him. If he does not, we will be showing him the way.”
-Virginia Senator Jim Webb delivering the response to Bush’s State of The Union Speech.
has just announced that she will bitcoin exchange “I’m in. And I’m in to win.”
‘If you get involved in a major ground war in the Saudi desert, I think support will erode significantly. Nor should it be supported. We cannot even contemplate, in my view, trading American blood for Iraqi blood.” {New York Times Aug 19, 1990}
Dennis Kucinich? Al Sharpton? Ted Kennedy? Nope!
John McCain said this in 1990.
John McCain: “Against the war…before he was for it.”
